We're passionate about feel-good landscapes

Land Studio East was founded by Ange Dean in 2013. After almost a decade of working for landscape architecture and community planning firms in Ontario and Nova Scotia, Ange decided to start a studio that reflects her values and design philosophy, and uses a holistic process to create life-enhancing landscapes.

We apply a holistic approach to all of our projects to create spaces that make people feel good.

Our projects include healing and sensory gardens, therapeutic design for health care facilities, residential properties, school yard design, edible and agricultural landscapes, sacred space design (churches, temples, mosques), tourism facilities including resort and retreat planning and design and First Nation community design.

The science is in on the benefits of restorative design for special user groups - the elderly, kids with ADD, people with mental illness. Research also supports the benefits of restorative design for the general public; a population that is often stressed, exhausted and disconnected.

Access to restorative environments improves quality of life.

Our approach integrates the principles of evidence-based design (wellness based) and the Sustainable Sites Initiative (ecological design) with alternative landscape approaches.

We get to know you and your site on a deep level so that we can meet your needs and support you throughout the planning, design and implementation stages of your project.

If you're overwhelmed, don't know where to start or know you need to phase your project to meet your budget - you've come to the right place.

We love taking complex challenges and breaking them down into innovative, bite-size solutions that respond to you and your site.

And we believe the process should be as enjoyable as the end product.

We would love to chat about your project, site or property and make your vision a reality. Click here to get in touch.
